SUNNYSIDE–TAHOE CITY, Placer County — Placer County Sheriff’s Tahoe Station identifies Sunnyside and Tahoe City among the communities it serves, with an extensive area of responsibility across the Lake Tahoe basin and neighboring mountain corridors.
The station’s official county directory says its coverage extends along Highway 89 toward the El Dorado County line and along Highway 28, as well as north toward Truckee and the Nevada County line. The station’s office is at 2501 North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, and its published nonemergency telephone number is 530-581-6300.
The presence of a local station does not mean officers can reach every mountain address immediately, especially during storms or major traffic incidents. Residents should distinguish law-enforcement calls from matters handled by Caltrans, local fire agencies or utility districts. Visitors also need to be aware of restrictions on backcountry access and winter parking.
What residents and visitors should know
Call 911 for emergencies. For records, routine inquiries and community information, consult the county’s station page and office hours before visiting.
